Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 8 August 2024

Date of assessment 5 November to 28 November 2024. Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre is a ‘care home’ that provides nursing and personal care for up to 71 adults with an acquired brain injury and other complex neurological conditions. At the time of the assessment 45 people lived at the home. Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre was last rated Requires Improvement (published 13 September 2024). We assessed a total of 5 quality statements from the safe and well-led key questions and found areas of good practice. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection/ assessment. Based on our findings at this assessment our overall rating has changed from requires improvement to good. This assessment did not cover all parts of our Single Assessment Framework; therefore, we have only updated scores and ratings for those areas which we have assessed. We will carry out future assessments to cover other parts of the Framework and will update our website with our findings. The service had made improvements and is no longer in breach of regulations. Staff now assessed and mitigated risks relating to the environment. Medicines were managed safely, and infection prevention and control measures protected people from the risk of harm. Governance systems in place identified areas for improvement and action taken when needed.
