Sussex Grange Home Care is a domiciliary care agency that provides personal care to people living in their own home. The provider provides support to older people, people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only assesses where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of assessment, 43 people were receiving support with personal care. This was an ‘assessment using remote technology’. This means we did not visit the office location and instead used technology such as electronic file sharing to gather information, and video and phone calls to engage with people using the service. We spoke with 3 people, 2 relatives and 1 friend about their experience of the support provided. We spoke with the registered manager, the deputy manager, director and 5 members of staff. We started off-site assessment activity on 13 December 2023 and ended on 8 January 2024. We looked at 5 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes.
