During a themed inspection looking at Dignity and Nutrition
The inspection team was led by a CQC inspector joined by a practicing professional.
Some of the people living in this home were unable to tell us about the care and support they receive. We used the Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI). SOFI is a specific way of observing care to help us understand the experience of people who could not talk with us.
We spoke with two relatives and one person that lived in the home. They had no concerns about the way in which people living in the home were cared for. We observed that people were treated kindly and were assisted when needed. Care staff supported people to be as independent as possible and to make day to day choices. Activities were arranged to help ensure that people maintained some interest in the world around them.
We observed that people were supported at meal times and had their nutritional and hydration needs met.
We spoke with the owner, the manager, two care staff and the cook. We found that they knew and understood the needs of people they were caring for. There were enough staff and these were deployed in such a way to ensure that people received the support they needed.
Appropriate records were kept about people's needs and how to meet them and these records were kept securely.
