Good

Updated 17 December 2024

Date of Assessment: 15 January to 22 January 2025. The service is a residential care home with nursing, providing support to older people, some of whom were living with dementia. At the time of our inspection, 54 people lived at the service. The provider was previously in breach of legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations. People were cared for by staff who knew them well and understood their individual preferences. Staff were kind and caring, they supported people with dignity and respect. People’s needs and preferences were assessed and reviewed regularly, and people’s health needs monitored to support healthy living. The environment was well maintained, clean and safe. Medicines were mostly managed safely. People and their relatives were given opportunities to feedback about the service. There was a positive culture at the service with staff taking part in reflective learning opportunities. Managers investigated accidents and incidents and ensured any learning was cascaded to staff. Initiatives were in place to reduce accidents and incidents. Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles.
