Our view of the service

Linkfield Court (Bournemouth) Limited is a residential care home, registered to accommodate up to 27 people who require personal care. The home does not provide nursing care. There were 21 people living at Linkfield Court (Bournemouth) Limited on the day of our inspection site visit. This assessment was undertaken on 27 June and 28 June 2024. Two inspectors attended Linkfield Court (Bournemouth) Limited to meet with the registered manager, people, and staff. The assessment was prompted by concerns we had received about the home in relation to managing risks for people and reporting safeguarding concerns. We looked at three quality statements within this assessment. Following the inspection we did not have any concerns about risk management and safeguarding procedures within the home. Risks to people’s health and well-being were assessed and managed well. The registered manager and staff spoke knowledgably regarding safeguarding procedures. There were clear procedures in place to keep people safe.

People's experience of this service

People told us they felt safe and enjoyed living at Linkfield Court (Bournemouth) Limited, their relatives agreed. Staff were clear about their responsibilities for keeping people safe and reporting concerns. There was a relaxed, happy atmosphere throughout the home, staff knew people well and how they preferred their care and support to be given. Risk assessments and management plans were detailed, personalised and guided staff to support people safely whilst still maintaining their independence. Assessments had been completed for people with their relatives being involved wherever appropriate. People told us they liked the staff who provided their care and enjoyed spending time with them. A relative told us, “The care staff are brilliant, they look after [person] so well.” The registered manager and senior staff team were approachable and provided clear support and guidance for staff. A member of staff told us, “[Name of Registered Manager] is the best manager. They are very good; they help us and are always here for us. I feel very supported.”
