Westerley Residential Care Home for the Elderly is a care home registered to provide accommodation, nursing and personal care, they are registered to provide this support to 30 people. This service provides support to older people. At the time of our assessment there were 18 people living at the service. The service is provided in an adapted building over 3 floors. This assessment commenced on 12 August to 11th September 2024. The assessment included a visit on 5 September 2024 by one inspector. This assessment was undertaken to review quality statements we had not reviewed at our last inspection. At this assessment we looked at 7 quality statements. Under the key question of Safe, we looked at; Learning culture and safe systems, pathways and transitions. Under the key question of Effective, we looked at; How staff, teams and services work together and support people to live healthier lives. Under the key question of Well Led, we looked at; Freedom to speak up, partnerships and communities, and workforce equality, diversity and inclusion. Like our last inspection in March 2024 we found improvements in these quality statements, this impacted positively on the care people received at the service. This included how learning from events was managed, how well people were supported to access services outside the home and how staff worked with external health professionals to improve people’s care. Staff were well supported by an effective management team.
