During a routine inspection
Prior to people being accepted for respite care, a comprehensive assessment was completed from which a care support plan was developed. We saw where people had identified health needs, there was information in their records about their condition and the problems they could present.
A person visiting a friend on the unit told us, "X is fine and does look well. I think it is lovely."
We checked the management of medicines and saw people received their medication as prescribed.
During our visit we observed staff spending time with people both individually and in small groups. Records confirmed staff received regular and relevant training. Staff spoke positively about the support they received from the management team.
We saw any complaints were fully investigated and dealt with appropriately.
