During a routine inspection
' 'The staff are very polite and kind. They always make sure the door is closed when I am receiving personal care.'
' 'The staff treat me with respect 100%! For example, staff ask what name I like to be called by. It's everything really. I can't fault them.'
People said that they are satisfied with the care they receive, commenting, 'I am very well looked after,' and, 'If I use the call point at 2am or 3 am the staff always respond in a couple of minutes. I can ask for a cup of tea and they always bring it quickly.' People said that they are consulted about the care they receive although not all people we spoke to were aware that they had a care plan. One person said that the matron completed the care plan in consultation with her.
People told us that they are able to exercise choice in how they spend their time and that there are a number of activities that they can take part in if they choose to join in.
We were told that the food is of a good standard and that there is always a choice available.
People said that they feel safe at the home. The following comment was made:
' 'I don't feel at risk of harm! One million percent I don't! The staff will walk the floors all night long to look after us. I have never felt at risk of harm here!'
The staff were described as kind, friendly, courteous, polite and professional. People told us that the home has enough staff to meet their needs.
People told us that they are aware of the complaints procedure and felt that the home would deal with any problem if it arose. One person told us that the manager had resolved a problem in a satisfactory way.
People told us how much they like the home's environment and gardens. Comment was also made that the home is kept clean.
