Atman Care is a domiciliary care service and supported living provider, providing personal care to people living in their own homes. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of assessment, the service was providing personal care to four people. We commenced our assessment on 20 May 2024, and this concluded on 03 June 2024. This location was registered in September 2021, and this was the first assessment of this new location. We looked at 95 evidence categories in the key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. Some people’s care plans, and risk assessments did not consistently contain sufficient detail or the relevant information to ensure staff were able to meet the person’s needs safely. The governance systems in place had failed to identify and rectify the concerns that were found during this assessment and during the internal auditing process. However, the provider took immediate action following the assessment to rectify the concerns that had been identified.

People's experience of the service

Updated 10 May 2024

There were mixed views from people and their relatives about the care and support they received from Atman Care. People told us they had been involved in the development and review of their care plan however, some people fed back that care staff did not always follow their care plan and felt that staff at times were putting them at risk as they felt they had not received the training required to meet the person’s needs. Other people spoke positively about the care and support they received and did not raise any concerns. People told us the staff were kind and caring and respected their privacy and dignity during care and support tasks. People told us they were supported by consistent staff who promoted their independence and stayed for the allocated time of the care call.
