Care was person-centred and promoted people’s dignity, privacy and human rights. Care was focused on supporting people to remain independent. Staff supported people to maintain relationships with friends and family.

Care was person-centred and promoted people’s dignity, privacy and human rights. Care was focused on supporting people to remain independent. Staff supported people to maintain relationships with friends and family. People were complimentary of the care and support they received at the service. One person said, “The staff understand me here.” Another person said, “The home is very good, and my family can come and see I am well cared for.” A relative said, “I would recommend this home, their strength is their staff who are all really lovely.” We saw one person who liked to be more independent with their food and drinks and had facilities to do this within their room. Another person had their own room key as they preferred to keep their room private.

Staff took time to get to know people and learn how they wished to be supported. Staff understood people’s rights and worked with them as individuals to promote positive outcomes.

We observed staff supporting people in a personalised way.

Care was planned in a person centred way with the involvement of people and relatives where appropriate. Feedback was obtained from people during all interactions with staff and support was regularly reviewed.
