Our view of the service

Alma Care Services Ltd is a domiciliary care service registered to provide personal care to individuals living in their own homes. They primarily offer services to older people. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. Personal care is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do provide personal care, we also consider any wider social care provided during our assessment. Date of assessment: 5 December 2024 to 3 January 2025. We gathered information from relatives, the registered manager, staff and from health and social care professionals involved with the service. We looked at all 34 quality statements. At this assessment we found people were cared for compassionately by staff who understood them well. People were treated with dignity, warmth, patience and respect. Staff felt well supported by a registered manager who ensured they had the right support and training to complete their roles. There were no shortfalls in the delivery of care, with staff always arriving at the agreed time and staying for the duration of the call. The registered manager was using a blend of electronic and paper-based records. They were able to demonstrate how the governance systems in place could grow as the service took on more people.

People's experience of this service

People’s relatives spoke extremely positively about how staff treated people. They had confidence in staff and the registered manager. People and their relatives were involved in all aspects of how care was planned and delivered. One relative said, “They did everything they said they would do, and more to be honest. It was our first experience of care and I can’t fault them.” People confirmed staff always arrived when expected and took a genuine interest in their wellbeing. Relatives found the manager approachable and described them as “hands-on” in terms of supporting staff and making themselves available if anything unexpected happened. They worked openly with people, relatives, staff and external health and social care professionals.
