During a routine inspection
People told us that they enjoyed the activities provided by the home and that they now had more opportunities to go out than they had in the past. People said they were happy with the quality and variety of food provided by the home. We found that people's needs in relation to nutrition had been assessed and communicated to catering staff.
We found that the provider had taken action to improve the arrangements for infection prevention and control, an area in which non-compliance was identified at our last inspection. We also found that the provider had systems in place to monitor the quality of the service people received.
We found that staff had attended training in mandatory areas and that refresher training in these areas was delivered regularly. However fire drill training was out of date for some staff and some staff had not attended training in supporting people with dementia. Records of staff supervision indicated that some staff had not received individual reviews on a regular basis.
