Independence, choice and control
People and staff knew each other well. Staff spoke to people respectfully and we observed warm interactions. Staff encouraged people to be as independent as possible and skills teaching programme were in place to support this.
Care records detailed the support people required to make choices. People had person centred plans which stated the support they required to make decisions and how staff should support this. Person centred plans as listed people’s preferences and dislikes. This enabled staff to provide personalised care which promoted people’s independence.
