Caring
People and relatives praised the staff at the home for their caring attitude. Everyone we spoke with told us the staff were kind, supportive and enabled people to be as independent as possible. People and relatives told us staff gave people choices daily.

Independence, choice and control
People were able to make decisions and choices about their care. Staff supported people to be as independent as possible. For example, people were able to access the community with some equipment to aid independence.
Staff and leaders told us they promoted people choices and independence. A staff member said, “Getting to know the person and all using the same approach gives consistency and helps the person to be supported in the way that works for them."
During our visit we observed staff offering people choices of food and activities.
The provider promoted people’s independence as much as possible. Service records showed people had regular support to make choices about their .care. People’s care records showed their likes and preferences were recorded along with goals and achievements. This helped to ensure they could reach their goals as identified for each individual.
