During a routine inspection
We found a diagnostic, screening and treatment service that supported individual's with their needs, from the point at which there were referred to the service to the point where they were discharged. This care programme ensured that people who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, however we noted that further work was required by the management team to clarify the procedure for documenting safeguarding concerns.
We concluded that staff were competent and suitably qualified to carry out their roles, and received regular support through the management team to do so. Whilst at the time of our inspection no appraisals were carried out for administration staff and clinicians not working for the health service, we noted that a progress and development review (PDR) process had been developed which was to be implemented in April 2013.
From the evidence collated it was clear that people who used the service were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted upon. In addition there was a clear system in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service provided .
