Care records demonstrated staff supported people to access relevant services to ensure people had equity in outcomes and experiences. Examples included supporting people to attend health services relevant to them with appropriate levels of support. Staff supported people to communicate effectively where needed.

The manager demonstrated a good understanding of the barriers people faced in accessing services, particularly related to people's mobility and effects of living with dementia. The manager reported problems they had experienced supporting people to access local podiatry services and the actions taken to support people to attend an alternative location.

People told us the provider made arrangements to support them to access external health services, including accessible transport. One person said staff made arrangements to ensure their sight loss did not affect the choices that were available to them.
