During a routine inspection
We observed care workers supporting the people who used the service in a caring and supportive manner. They were respectful and gave people choices.
We spoke with one person who used the service who said they liked the staff and that the staff helped them when they needed support.
We spoke to three relatives who said that a good service was provided.
We looked at two care records which showed how the needs of the people who used the service were to be met, including any risks to their well-being.
We looked at two staff files and found there were appropriate recruitment and selection processes in place.
We found the home environment to be clean. Some corridor and bathrooms areas where showing signs of wear and tear.
We found that appropriate action had not been taken to demonstrate how the safety of the people who used the service was maintained in the absence of a functioning emergency call system.
Wirral Social Services reported that any safeguarding concerns were appropriately referred to them. Wirral LINKs had no up to date information about the operation of the service.

During a routine inspection
It was difficult to discuss issues of safeguarding with the client group; however those we spoke with told us that they felt safe.
One resident we spoke with told us that they have a meeting with staff if they have any problems.
