We visited Alexandra Care Home on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 of April 2024 and our visit was unannounced. Alexandra Care Home supports up to 40 people, including those living with dementia. At the time of this assessment there were 36 people living at the service. We spoke to 5 people living at the home and 5 family representatives remotely. We received feedback from 8 external professionals and from 22 staff. We reviewed documents including care records, staff recruitment files and records relating to the management of the service. At the last inspection in 2019 this location was rated as Requires Improvement. Following this assessment, which was completed under a new provider, the service has improved to Good

People and relatives spoke positively about the care and support they received and were happy overall with the service. Relatives told us, their family members were supported by staff who knew them well and managed their individual needs. People and relatives told us, they felt they were able to raise concerns and that they would be listened to. People, relatives, and staff were provided with opportunities to give feedback about the service, enabling any improvements to be made. We saw instances and examples of where the provider had acted upon feedback they had received.
