Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
1. Within 20 days of this condition being imposed, and every month thereafter, the registered provider must undertake a full audit of all care plans, health action plans and risk assessments for service users receiving a regulated activity at L’Arche Bognor Regis Bethany.
On completion of the audits, the registered provider must produce a report and send it to the Care Quality Commission on the last working day of each month. The report must include, but is not limited to, audit outcomes with regards to the management of:
a) Diabetes
b) Epilepsy and seizures
c) Food allergies and intolerance
d) Constipation
e) Mobility
f) Weight management
g) Respiratory health
h) Prada Willi Syndrome
The report must include any analysis of audits and any actions identified to improve the service, with timescales for completion.
2. Within 20 days of this condition being imposed the registered provider must provide the Care Quality Commission with written documentation setting out how they will ensure there is an effective system for positive behaviour support at L’Arche Bognor Regis Bethany.
Thereafter the provider will undertake a monthly audit of positive behaviour support plans and practices at L’Arche Bognor Regis Bethany. On completion of the audits, the registered provider must produce a report and send it to the Care Quality Commission on the last working day of each month. The report must include, but is not limited to, audit outcomes with regards to the following:
a) All positive behaviour support plans are supported by an up to date functional assessment of the persons behaviour.
b) Positive behaviour support plans are written, reviewed, and updated by a suitably qualified, skilled, and competent professional.
c) All staff have received training in positive behaviour support from an accredited reputable specialist service or consultant
d) All records and staff practice relating to behaviour related incidents are reviewed and analysed by a suitably qualified, skilled, and competent professional.
The report must include any analysis of audits and any actions identified to improve the service, with timescales for completion.
3. Within 20 days of this condition being imposed, and every month thereafter, the registered provider must undertake a full audit of records relating to governance at L’Arche Bognor Regis Bethany. The audit must include, but is not limited to, governance process to monitor the following:
a) Records relating to accidents and incidents occurring are reviewed and analysed for the root cause of any patterns or trends. There is evidence of actions arising from this analysis and lessons learnt.
b) Medicines are received, stored, administered, and recorded in line with the prescriber’s instructions and the provider’s policy.
c) Records are accurate and contemporaneous. Information is recorded consistently across documents and records.
d) Risks to service users are properly identified and managed. Service users and those important to them participate in managing risks. Risk assessments are person-centred, proportionate and reviewed regularly.
e) There is evidence of regular provider led scrutiny and oversight of quality monitoring and governance of L’Arche Bognor Regis Bethany.
f) Information entered on the monthly quality assurance report for L’Arche Bognor Regis Bethany is scrutinised for accuracy and detail. Identified actions are monitored.
On completion of the audits, the registered provider must produce a report and send it to the Care Quality Commission on the last working day of each month. The report must include actions identified to improve the service, with timescales for completion.
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The Registered Provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care at L'Arche Bognor Regis Bethany.
The Registered Provider must only accommodate a maximum of 6 service users at L'Arche Bognor Regis Bethany.
