During an inspection looking at part of the service
We found that the staff who had managed the home at the time of the Care Quality Commission compliance review in March 2011 had changed. The new management team were in the process of responding to the findings of that review, however, these changes were not as yet embedded into the service.
We found that, in the main, people who used the service and their relatives felt improvements had occurred, particularly in relation to meals, activities and the environment. One person however felt that the food had not improved.
Overall we found that additional evidence was needed before we could assess the service as fully compliant in relation to the Health and Social Care Act (HSCA) 2008 in the following essential standards of quality and safety: care and welfare of people who use the service and meeting nutritional needs.
We found, however, that the service was now compliant with the standards: cleanliness and infection control and complaints.
