During a routine inspection
During our inspection, we spoke with 14 people who used the service, six people's relatives, four staff members and the registered manager.
The people and the relatives that we spoke with were happy with the care they received. One person said, 'I think this company is brilliant and trust them implicitly.' Another told us, 'Overall, I am very happy with the care I am receiving, they will always ask if there is anything else I need before they go.' A person's relative told us, 'We are very happy with the whole service, we feel X is safe and well cared for.'
People told us that they were treated with respect and that they and their relatives were involved in decisions about their care.
An assessment of people's needs had been carried out before they used the service. Risk assessments were in place to ensure that people's day to day living was safe.
The staff we spoke with were able to demonstrate a good knowledge of how to reduce the spread of infection when supporting people with their personal care needs.
The staff we spoke with told us that they felt supported and we saw that they had received sufficient training and supervision to provide safe care. The required checks on staff had taken place before they started working for the service to ensure that they were of good character.
The service regularly monitored the quality of the care and support they provided.
