During a routine inspection
We spoke with two people who were staying at The Respite House. Comments included: "The staff are good, it's been good here", " I have no complaints at all" and "I know the staff here are brilliant at their job, they look after me great, its just what I need".
We saw people who used the service were able to access food and drink as they required, to maintain a balanced nutritional intake. The registered manager explained that the weekly food budget had been increased to ensure fresh and good quality foodstuffs were purchased.
Staff who worked at The Respite House had detailed policy and procedure guidance to follow in the event of any safeguarding incident. We spoke with two people who used the service who said: "I do feel safe here, I have no issue at all with the staff or anyone else who lives here" and "I think the staff look after you here, you feel safe".
We were able to speak with two staff members during the visit who were very positive about the support and leadership they received from their line manager.
We found appropriate systems in place to monitor the quality of the service provided.
