We assessed Highgate Care Home between 27 February 2024 and 27 March 2024. This was a combination of onsite and remote assessment. The onsite inspection took place on 27 February 2024. This was a reactive assessment carried out due to whistleblowing cases raised with us in relation to staffing levels and behaviour. We found no evidence to substantiate these claims and staff we spoke to had no such concerns. Highgate Care Home provides residential care to adults including nursing care. At the time of inspection there were 48 residents. During our assessment we spoke to 8 staff members, including care staff, nursing staff and the home manager. There were 84 members of permanent staff and no agency staff were used. We also spoke to the GP for the home and attended a meeting of professionals. We found this to be a good service with no breaches to regulation in any of the key questions we looked at. People were provided with good care and were involved in producing and reviewing their care plans. We found care plans reflected the individual needs and wishes of people from a person centred perspective. Staff expressed they felt well supported and had access to training they needed to perform their roles well. People felt safe and processes were in place to safeguard people. The home was well led.
