During a routine inspection
It was not possible for people using services to share their experience of living at Valleyfield with us but we did talk to two relatives who were visiting. They could not have been more complimentary of the care and treatment offered and delivered at Valleyfield saying "everything is brilliant here including the staff". People using services were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had procedures in place to identify the possibility of suspected or actual abuse. We spoke with two staff members who commented they received a thorough induction and also ongoing training and professional development which provided them with the skills to care for people using services. Observations made during our visit confirmed care was delivered in a professional and dignified manner which showed total respect for people using services. An effective system was in place to respond to and monitor any comments or complaints including escalation to senior managers if the complaint could not be concluded in a satisfactory manner at a local level.
