During a routine inspection
"I love living here, everyone is like my family"
"I have a big room, it's messy but I'm not a tidy person. Staff do help me if I want help"
"Staff always help me when I want help. They help me wash my hair when I want them to."
"I can always speak with staff if I want anything"
"It is great living here. I do the cooking every week and write it on here (the rota)'.
Care plans showed that people's needs and opinions had been listened to and that people had been supported and encouraged to make decisions about their lives. We found a lot of involvement in the local community, including supported employment placements. However, we found that risk assessments were not person specific and there was not an assessment for a person who had lived in the home for three months.
We found that the training records for the staff were out of date and contained information about former staff. We did however find that supervision was completed regularly. We later received an up to date matrix which showed us that staff are appropriately trained.
We saw that people and their representatives were asked their views about the home in annual surveys. We saw records which showed information from these surveys had been acted upon. The provider has internal monitoring and auditing systems in place.
