During a routine inspection
People's nutritional needs were assessed on admission and continued to be monitored to maintain people's health and wellbeing. Food served looked appetising. Snacks and drinks were made available to people at any time. People we spoke with said 'The food is very good. Menus are made up of appetizing choices. I would be able to get a drink and a snack during the night.' And 'The food is lovely.' People's dietary needs were met.
Medication systems in operation were robust. People were assessed to see if they could look after and give themselves their own prescribed medication. If they were safe to do so, this was permitted which promote their independence.
Effective recruitment procedures were in place. However, staff were not currently being recruited to work at this home. There were enough skilled and experienced staff in place to meet people's needs, in a timely way. People we spoke with said "The staff are skilled and they are there then when needed."
