Manor Park Medical Practice is located in Leicester at 577 Melton Road, Thurmaston, Leicestershire, LE4 8EA. The practice has a branch surgery at 122 Parker Drive, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE4 0JF. The practice delivers general medical services to a patient population of around 14,000. Manor Park Medical Practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 to provide the following regulated activities; diagnostic and screening procedures, treatment of disease, disorder or injury, surgical procedures and family planning. Patients can access these services at both the main practice and branch surgery. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the third lowest decile (three of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. According to the latest available data from 2024, the ethnic make-up of the practice area is 46.10% White, 39.25% Asian, 7.11% Black, 3.48% Mixed and 4.06% Other. There is a team of four GP partners, seven salaried GP's. At the time of the inspection, there was no nurse practitioner. However, this absent role was supported by locum nurses, phlebotomists and diabetes and respiratory specialists. The practice also had three clinical pharmacists reviewing patient’s medicines. The GP’s are supported at the practice by a team of reception and administration staff. The practice manager and assistant practice manager are also available at both locations to provide managerial oversight. We conducted our on-site assessment on 29 August 2024. We reviewed all key questions; safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. During our assessment, we found systems and processes in place to support safe care and treatment to the practice population. However, there was a breach in governance as summarising notes for existing patients were not completed.

The practice is open between 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. The practice offers a range of appointment types including book on the day, telephone consultations and advance appointments. Extended access is provided locally as part of the primary care network (PCN), where late evening and Saturday appointments are also available. Out of hours services are provided by NHS 111. People were positive about the quality of their care and treatment. Staff informed us that they were able to speak to managers about concerns and felt supported and listened to. There was also a patient participation group (PPG) formed of 9 members having the opportunity to give feedback. Their feedback described their experience positively, being involved in the decision making around their care and treatment and they considered the management team responsive.
