During an inspection in response to concerns
One resident who had recently been admitted to Landmere told us that they 'found the staff helpful and nice.' The resident was able to choose what time they went to bed and got up. They also reported that they received their medication on time and enjoyed the activities on offer each weekday morning.
Some relatives told us that they found that there was some very committed staff, but some staff were not always suitably skilled in how to communicate with residents with Dementia. They felt that some staff frequently left the lounge area unattended and did not have the up to date information in how to care for residents. Relatives reported that they raised concerns with staff about lounges being unattended but nothing had been done and residents were still at risk.
Some of the residents we spoke with told us that they were well cared for and protected by staff.
