We carried out this review because concerns had been raised about infection control in the home and the levels of staffing. We found there were not systems in place to ensure that people were protected against the identifiable risks of acquiring an infection. However, we found there were suitable numbers of staff to meet the needs of the residents within the home.
We found that although staff received regular supervision meetings and felt supported in their role, their training was not up to date in a number of areas.
We found that people were treated with respect and that they enjoyed living in the home. One person described the home as their 'holiday home' and said they really liked it. This person said the staff were very good and helped them out when they needed it. We also saw that care was delivered in a supportive manner.
We found that care plans were detailed and contained assessments of risks involved in delivering care and assessments of each individual person's needs.
