During a routine inspection
We saw that patients who used the service were protected because staff had completed safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children training. We also saw that the service had policies and procedures on safeguarding.
We saw that staff were recruited safely according to policy and procedure. For example we saw evidence that all staff had Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks in place to ensure there was no known reason why they should not work with vulnerable people. (Now the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS))
We saw positive comments from a sample of ten survey questionnaires which patients had completed about their care and treatment. We found that the service responded to complaints and comments in a timely way and had systems in place to learn from adverse events.
