During a routine inspection
Overall, the feedback we received from people who live at the home was very complimentary about the way staff respected their rights and encouraged them to get involved in the running of their home. They said that staff knew what care was needed and that they do things the way people who use the service want them to.
People told us staff always enabled them to express their views and respected their privacy and dignity. Comments we received can be summarised as follows: 'All the staff are really good and do ask about my care and how I like it to be done', 'Staff know what they are doing and I feel safe here', I feel staff will listen and I know how to complain if I need to', 'Staff are respectful and they asked me what food I wanted, the food is good', 'I was asked about activities I like to do by the home and I get out to walk and to the shop regularly'.
These comments were reflective of the overall comments we received from the people who live at the home to whom we spoke.
Relatives we spoke to said they had been involved in the process of assessing their relative's care needs and felt the staff at the home had got to know them well.
People that we spoke to said they knew who they would talk to if they had a complaint and felt able to raise any concerns that they might have with the staff and manager. They said that they felt safe and comfortable with staff supporting them. They said that they had regularly been asked about things like what food they would like and how they like to be supported.
