During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with two people who use the service and four members of staff. They were the registered manager and three support workers. We also looked at review records and meeting records to help us understand the views of the people who use the service.

One person who uses the service expressed they were happy at the home and they got involved in various activities. Another person told us 'I like everything about the home'.

Staff we spoke with enjoyed working at the home one person told us 'I love working here, we really focus on a person's needs'. The staff we spoke with felt supported by their manager. Another person told us 'We are a good team and this really feels like a homely home'.

We looked at care plans and staff records and observed levels of staff. We saw the service had enough experienced and skilled staff to meet the people's needs.

During a routine inspection

People living in the home spoken with during the inspection expressed satisfaction with the home, the staff and the service provided:

'I like living here and I'm very happy'.

We were told that, in accordance with their identified wishes and individual support plans, people are encouraged and enabled, as far as practicable, to make choices about their daily lives.

During our visit, we found that people living in the home were settled and content, their assessed needs were being met and they were clearly well cared for. This was reinforced by positive comments received and also evident from direct observation of effective interaction and of individuals being supported in a professional, sensitive and respectful manner.
