All Inspections

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four out of the eight people who used the service and who were at home when we carried out our inspection. People told us they felt well cared for and supported by staff. One person said, 'Staff ask me how I am feeling and when I get depressed they support me.' Another told us, 'Staff support me to make decisions and they respect my choices.'

We looked at care records and risk assessments. These provided clear guidance for staff to enable them to safely meet the needs of the people they supported.

We observed staff interacting with people and saw that interactions were positive, caring and supportive. Staff demonstrated respect for individual's choice and preferences.

We looked around the service and found it to be homely clean and well maintained.

We looked at a range of records which showed us that maintenance and safety checks were regularly carried out to ensure that people lived in a well maintained and safe environment.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the service. They told us they experienced good care and their healthcare needs were met.

We asked people if they were not happy about their care or treatment what they would do and people told us they would speak to the care workers or the registered manager. One person told us 'It is a safe happy place. I am quite content here. The people here are lovely and the carers are very nice.'

People told us there was enough trained care workers to support them with their needs. One person said 'They (care workers) are very good and help me do things for myself and help me be active and independent.' Another person told us the care workers 'Understand me and know how to support me.'

People we spoke with told us they were fully consulted about their care plans and had been asked for their views about the service they received. They all said their privacy and dignity was respected and they felt safe with their care workers.

People told us they did different things each day which they enjoyed. One person told us 'I went fishing for the first time in my life last week and didn't think I would like it but they (care workers) encouraged me to go and I caught lots of fish it was great. I am looking forward to going again.' Another person told us 'I am happy and glad I moved here.'

Everyone we spoke with told us they found their care workers honest, reliable and trustworthy.
