Date of assessment : 12 August 2024 to 15 August 2024. Grove House Residential Care Home is a residential care home providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care. It is registered to provide care for up to 29 older people. At the time of our assessment there were 18 people living in the home. This assessment was prompted in part by notification of a significant incident at the service. This assessment did not examine the circumstances of the incident but looked at the overall safety and governance of the service. Whilst we found action had been taken to address some issues identified at our last inspection, we found 2 continued breaches of the legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. A lack of an effective quality assurance system meant shortfalls in service provision had not been identified to ensure compliance with regulations and improve standards of care. Significant risks identified by external organisations in relation to fire and the management of Legionella had not been addressed in a timely way. Processes to support safe medicines practices and risk management needed to be improved to minimise the risk of harm. In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded.
