During a routine inspection
Most people were involved in the local community, attend day care services, or had paid or voluntary jobs. We met and talked with eight of the people who lived at 45 Rivers Street and with four members of the staff team. We were invited to see a number of people's rooms and the communal areas. People told us "I like living here" and "I get on well with the staff." We were told "I feel very safe here" and "I love it here."
Most of the people at 45 Rivers Street have lived at the home for many years, and some for several decades. Staff told us that they got to know the people who lived at the home "really well" and "we really see them as family." People said that staff involved them in choices and decisions as much as possible.
We found the service fully compliant with three of the five standards that we assessed during our visit. We have some minor concerns with medicines management and record keeping and we have asked the service to make some improvements.
