During a routine inspection
Support was individualised and discreet. Staff were very knowledgeable of people's care and support needs and told us of numerous activities that people do on a daily basis. An advocate who visits the home confirmed that people enjoy a range of activities including opportunities to try new experiences.
People have regular contact with family and friends and relatives who spoke with us were very happy with the care and support provided by the home. The staff team, including the seniors currently assuming management responsibilities, were considered to be competent and approachable.
A social care manager told us that the team had no concerns about the service provided by the home.
Staff felt well supported to do their jobs. They received good training opportunities and considered that they offer good quality care. All staff we spoke with said they would be confident in their ability to recognise and report any poor or abusive practice. Staffing levels were flexible and enabled people to access community activities and a low staff turnover enabled the home to offer consistency which meant that people were supported by people who know them well.
Dimensions, the organisation who manages the home, has implemented a number of quality assurance and monitoring measures which mean that senior managers are able to assess if the home is meeting the essential standards of quality and safety. This enables them to ensure that they deliver a good quality service.
