During a routine inspection

We spoke to five people who had a scan during our visit and one person who was accompanying a relative. All of them spoke positively of their experiences and the care they had received from the staff. One person told us " It has all been really good. My relative is hard of hearing and the staff handled that really well." Another person told us "The scan was done very quickly and efficiently."

We found that people using the service had been given full information about the scan procedure and what to expect on the day. People were treated with respect and courtesy and confidentiality was observed.

We found that there was not an effective procedure in place for ensuring the medicines used in the service were properly authorised.

Staff were trained and supported to provide the service and received regular appraisal and opportunities for professional development.

There were systems in place both locally and at provider level to audit and monitor the quality of the service.
