Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 14 Jan to 15 Jan 2025. This service is a domiciliary care agency. It provides personal care to people living in their own homes. They support adults of all ages, specialising at present in supporting people who need palliative care. At the time of the inspection, 4 people were receiving support with personal care. This was the first inspection for this service. The service had embedded a good learning culture. People were protected and kept safe. There were enough staff to support people safely and provide flexible and person-centred care. Care plans and risk assessments were tailored to the individual. People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff were sensitive to people’s circumstances and worked closely with relatives to deliver a holistic approach to care. Staff felt very well supported and managers encouraged their development. Staff spoken with described the various ways in which managers supported them both personally and professionally. Managers and staff worked closely together and had a shared culture based on openness and honesty.

People's experience of this service

Relatives spoken with had only positive comments about the service and the quality of the care their loved ones received. Comments included, “Absolutely wonderful. Very caring”, “I really can’t fault them in anyway” and “They are angels, just wonderful. I’m very pleased”. Comments about staff included, “They’re very respectful and helpful” and “They are always pleasant and cheerful, they chat to [name of person]. They are all very pleasant”. The service ensured relatives were equally supported during difficult personal times. Following bereavements, the service always sent a card and flowers to relatives. Recent reviews from families who received care from the service included comments, “The kindness and support [name of staff member] has shown me has been invaluable during what is a very complicated and stressful time”, “They really do go above and beyond” and “[Staff] are so excellent, very caring and kind and supportive”.
