Our view of the service
Date of assessment 29 July 2024 to 15 August 2024. Optimal Care Plus is a domiciliary care agency registered to provide personal care to people living in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of our assessment Optimal Care Plus were providing support to 9 people. This is the first assessment of this newly registered service. We reviewed 33 quality statements during this assessment covering safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The service had a manager registered with the Care Quality Commission. This means they and the provider are legally responsible for how the service is run and for the quality and safety of the care provided.
People's experience of this service
People and their relatives were happy with the care and support provided by the service. However, some mentioned they were not always supported by a consistent team of staff and staff did not always arrive on time although stayed for the full time of their care call upon arrival. People told us staff were kind and caring, they felt safe using the service and staff knew how to support them. People received their medicines on time where required and staff wore appropriate personal protective equipment [PPE]. Although not all people were aware of the formal complaints process, they were confident they could contact the office and matters would be dealt with. Staff told us the management team were supportive and approachable and there was a positive culture at the service.
