The Holt provides accommodation and personal care for up to 6 people with learning disabilities and autistic people. At the time of our assessment there were 6 people living at the service. This assessment was conducted between 12 November 2024 and 11 December 2024. The assessment was undertaken as the service had not been inspected since 2019. At the last inspection the service was rated good in all key questions. At this assessment we looked at 7 quality statements across the 4 key questions of safe, effective, caring and responsive. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about the services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. People were protected from the risk of abuse due to knowledgeable managers and staff, and clear policies and procedures. Risks to people’s health, safety and welfare were assessed, mitigated and regularly reviewed. Since our last inspection there had been a substantial reduction in the amount of restrictions placed on people which enabled people to have greater choice and control in their daily lives. There were enough well trained and supported staff to ensure people received high quality, person-centred care. Staff knew people very well and ensured their rights were upheld and they experienced good outcomes.
