During a routine inspection
People were treated with respect and had their dignity maintained. One person told us they thought the service was "absolutely fantastic" and specifically noted that staff did not intrude upon them and they "always knock [on the bedroom door] and await."
People were involved in discussions about how best they could be supported both during their stay and afterwards. People spoke positively about the care provided and comments included "absolutely happy about the care", "I get all the help I need" and "I'm treated well".
The accommodation at Medlock Court was well maintained, clean tidy and pleasantly decorated. Comments from people using the service included "my room is excellent" and "it's a nice place to be".
Sufficient staffing was provided so that people's needs could be met if not immediately, in a timely manner. The staff were well-trained to help them undertake their tasks competently.
The home had a complaints procedure and people using the service were confident that any complaint would be dealt with appropriately. One person described the care staff as very approachable and said "you can always ask and you do not feel you're complaining or moaning and if they can put it right they will do".
