During an inspection looking at part of the service
We saw that staff were friendly and caring in their approach and people told us that staff were respectful towards them.
The service was regularly checking that people were happy with the food being provided. We saw that people were given choices of meals and they appeared to enjoy them. People told us: 'The food is ok.' 'Very good in my opinion.' A visitor told us: 'The food is lovely; X always has nice food and plenty to eat.'
Social activities were being provided by staff. We saw that people's opinions of these had been sought through a satisfaction survey. Comments included: 'They're alright.' 'Would like more.' 'I would like more singing.' We saw the home had actioned these requests by making a commitment to provide more small and frequent social activities.
People told us they felt confident to raise any concerns they may have with staff. We saw that when concerns had been raised by people, these had been investigated and responded to as appropriate. One person told us 'I can talk to them about anything; we have a laugh and a joke.'
Most areas of the home were clean and there were no unpleasant odours.
