During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 4 November 2024. This report is an overview of the findings from the assessment day. The report may not detail all the findings from the day, although the assessment was completed in line with our current methodology, gathering evidence from numerous sources to evaluate the service. We found the practice had met regulations. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures mostly reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. The practice is in Oswestry, Shropshire and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice. The practice had 5 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 3 dentists, 2 qualified dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
