During a routine inspection
'The starting point for the staff here is what do I need and how can they help and support me.'
A range of information leaflets were available which provided advice and guidance on areas related to the service such as sexual health and contraception.
We looked at the care records for four young people who used the service and found they had detailed initial assessment information for each person. Care records were updated after each visit and provided an accurate record of the treatment provided and the support and advice offered to the young person. One person told us they had been happy with the service they received
Training records showed all staff employed by the service had undertaken safeguarding children and vulnerable adults training. Staff members spoken were able to describe the different types of abuse and what they would do if they had safeguarding concerns.
The training records of three staff members showed they had received a thorough induction to ensure they had the qualifications, skills and knowledge to support the young people who used the service.
One person spoken with told us they felt the service was well organised and that they did not have to wait long to be seen. There were effective systems in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service provided by Brook Wirral.
