Our view of the service
Victoria House (Wallasey) is a residential care home, providing personal care to up to 56 people, including people living with dementia. At the time of our visit there were 45 people living at the home. At our last inspection, this service was rated requires improvement. This assessment was completed as we received concerns regarding infection prevention and control (IPC) within the home. The assessment of the service commenced on 19 March 2024. This service remains rated requires improvement following this assessment. Staff were knowledgeable on areas around IPC and were up to date with IPC training. The environment was mostly clean and hygienic, there were a few areas where improvement was required however, these had been picked up by the providers improvement plan. We found learning from outbreaks didn’t always happen in a timely manner and some areas for improvement were shared with the service regarding robust record keeping.
