Governance, management and sustainability
We found staff to be open and willing to provide written feedback. The provider demonstrated a transparent and open culture in relation to people’s safety. Staff told us there was strong leadership with emphasis on people’s safety and continually striving to improve. Staff told us they had clear responsibilities, roles and systems of accountability to support good governance and management and they had effective processes to support and develop staff with additional roles and responsibilities. . They were encouraged to recommend changes in the practice and where suggestions had been made, the provider listened to and acted upon them. Feedback from staff was obtained through meetings, team social media groups, and informal discussions. Overall staff told us they felt respected, supported and valued, they worked with a very friendly and supportive team. They were proud to work in the practice.
Where the assessment and information received identified any areas of concern, leaders took immediate action to address these. From the evidence provided, we noted the practice had governance systems which included policies, protocols and procedures. Staff told us in feedback that outcomes were discussed to share learning and improve the service. There were processes in place for identifying and managing risks, issues and performance. The practice responded to our concerns appropriately. The information and evidence sent to us for review was clear and well documented.
