We talked with three people visiting the surgery: two were patients and one person was a relative. We found that patients using Parkfield dental practice were happy with the quality of care provided. The patients told us the practice provided enough information about treatments to enable them to make an informed choice about their care.
Comments included:
'The dentist discusses everything with me, and I tell him, and discuss what I want.'
Patients also told us the surgery was clean and a pleasant place to visit.
Comments included:
"It's perfect, everything about it, from the dentists to the receptionists.'
"It's very clean here, I've been coming since it opened and I'm happy.'
And a relative told us:
'The children were actually pleased to come to the dentist. There's a lovely big television with cartoons on for them and I've not seen that before.'
We found the practice followed systems to make sure infection control was effective.
We found the health and welfare of the patient was promoted during treatment because systems were in place to deal with medical emergencies.
We found the practice needed to improve the way in which medication was stored in order to fully promote the welfare and safety of patients.
We saw systems in place to ensure equipment was serviced and safe to use.
