At the time of our visit the surgery was very busy and the opportunity did not arise where we could speak with any people using the service. We did however have the opportunity to view comments made in the completed patient questionnaires. All comments about the dental service were extremely complimentary with positive comments about treatments received.We found that J S Ward Dental Practice provided people with appropriate information and support in relation to their treatment. Treatment was provided in a way that maintained people's privacy and dignity and the provider had an effective system to assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
We saw that the treatment rooms and general waiting areas appeared clean and tidy. There were policies and procedures in place in relation to infection control and there were appropriate procedures in place for the decontamination of equipment.
We found that the provider was meeting the regulations we looked at, with the exception of the regulation which concerned the recruitment of staff where there were moderate concerns. We have asked that the provider take action to ensure that the recruitment records are improved.
