During a routine inspection
Two people said they were asked to provide a medical history at each appointment but one person said they were not always asked for this.
They said that they were involved in decisions about their care, given clear information about the treatment options available to them and were asked for consent accordingly. All treatment prices were fully explained. They said they would recommend the practice to others. One person was accompanied by their children and they said that the dentist was always good with them.
We also looked at patient survey results, which revealed a good rate of satisfaction with the care people received.
We found that there was not always a clear record that consent had been obtained for private patients. We also found that decontamination records were not always being fully completed, and required infection control practices were not always being carried out.
