Governance, management and sustainability

Score: 1

The registered manager acknowledged their quality assurance processes needed improving. Staff told us their employment conditions did not reflect what they were originally employed for. For example, staff worked very long hours and they did not always feel supported around receiving the appropriate training to undertake their roles.

Systems for identifying, capturing and managing organisational risk and issues were not effective. This meant some legal requirements were not met. Audits completed did not identify the concerns we found. The provider had not identified the concerns regarding missing, incorrect or conflicting information found in care plans, lack of training for staff or when staff files did not include records to evidence safe recruitment checks had been completed. The Provider Information Request form had been requested from the provider prior to the assessment visit. However, this had not been completed and returned to the Care Quality Commission.
